This blog is about my thoughts, experiences and ideas about what living from the heart means to me.

How to listen to your heart

The ancient guidance to ‘listen to your heart’ has been around for thousands of years and still we find it challenging to do. This is partly because instead of being taught the value of your heart’s guidance early in life you are taught to follow the rules and to do what other people tell you to do. After a life time of doing this it can be incredibly hard to get in touch with your feelings and trust them but your feelings are your heart’s way of speaking to you.

Psalm 34:18 (Clouded Heart)

Your feelings are your heart’s way of speaking to you

Develop an awareness of what makes your heart expand with happiness

A first step to re-learning this natural ability is to develop an awareness of how certain people and situations in your life make you feel. Which ones make your heart expand with happiness and which make it contract and feel heavy? Most of you would acknowledge that feelings of happiness and heart expansion feel much better than a heavy heart but you will still find people and situations in your lives that make your heart contract and drain your energy.

This may be because you have a sense of obligation towards a person or situation or you fear their loss as you don’t know what will take their place in your life. Either way holding on to them can mean you are keeping yourself stuck in a place that no longer serves you and stops you moving onto the next stage of your life’s journey.

The guidance of others can limit you

When you face a situation where you are not sure what action to take it is natural to ask for the guidance of friends. Whilst this can be useful it’s important to be aware this advice will be given from their own life experience, beliefs and personality. It can be interesting to see your cautious friend will advise caution. The friend who uses attack as a form of defence will make a suggestion based on this coping strategy and the friend who is challenged to speak the truth of their feelings will tell you not to speak your truth. You need to realise these are all coping strategies they developed to avoid pain and living from the heart means embracing pain as part of life rather than contracting in fear around it. Action taken from your heart’s true nature of love and trust will always bring more love into your life eventually.

Fear based action cuts us off from our hearts wisdom

Ultimately any action taken from fear whether yours or another persons cuts you off from your heart’s wise guidance that is your direct connection to universal intelligence, whilst any action taken from love opens you up more fully to this connection.  Listening to your heart to become aware of what makes it expand with happiness and joy so you can move towards the people and places that give you that feeling is an act of self- love.

Your heart is the only guaranteed constant in your life. It will be with you through the ups and downs, the good times and the not so good. It only wants the best for you and will always have an answer in any situation, though you might find it challenging to act on it.

Know that your heart is always trying to heal the inevitable hurt life brings you. It is always moving you towards forgiveness because beyond forgiveness lies complete freedom from the past and the opportunity to live from your true nature of love rather than fear.

The power of beliefs

When you hear the word belief what does it make you think of? Chances are it is religious beliefs. For millennia religious wars have raged because people are intolerant of others belief systems and want theirs to be the one true belief. Religion is still used today by many people as a way to dominate and control others.

We are all aware that people can be very protective of their beliefs as they form the foundation of their lives and any challenge to them can be seen as threatening.  But what many people do not realise is the power beliefs have to shape our lives in ways we are not consciously aware of.

EFT Sussex

You are a powerful creator who has created your world from your beliefs

The truth is you are all living in your own worlds created by your beliefs. These beliefs are based on your past experience, your conditioning, other people’s perceptions you have absorbed as your own and the collective unconscious. The part of our unconscious mind that’s derived from ancestral memory and experience that you regularly access in your dreams.

Rupert Sheldrake talks about Morphic Fields as energetic information that surrounds all life forms and control their characteristic activities through repetition of thought and behaviour. When we understand that our thoughts and behaviour are controlled by our beliefs. We can see how our beliefs contribute to our own Morphic Fields and the more energy we give those beliefs through repetition of living from them the more power they have over our lives.

You are a powerful creator

You are in fact a powerful creator who has created your world from your beliefs about yourself. But the good news is in the same way you’ve managed to create a life from your self-limiting beliefs. You can choose to shift your unconscious choices to conscious ones and create a life from positive beliefs about yourself. Close your eyes and imagine what that might look like?

Matrix Reimprinting helps you find those core self-limiting beliefs often created in childhood during an emotionally challenging or traumatic moment. As a child you are the centre of your world and need to have an explanation of why particular events happen to you. Often the reasons you create involve blaming yourself in someway. You decide you are not good enough, not lovable, not worthy, bad, wrong the list goes on. What you don’t realise as a child is from the moment the belief has been formed you begin creating your life from it.

Your beliefs are thought forms you send into the Matrix

The reason these beliefs are so powerful is because they are programmed into your subconscious mind and you have no conscious awareness of them in your day-to-day lives. In the quantum understanding of the universe everything is part of the divine Matrix, a field of energy transformation and manifestation that permeates and connects all life forms. Your beliefs are thought forms you send out into the matrix that you attract back as life experiences. In other words if you have a belief you are not good enough on a subconscious level you are constantly looking for validation of the truth of your belief so you can be ‘right’.

From a survival perspective this is a way of keeping you safe because you are still influenced by your ancestors fear of change as for them change was a real threat to their survival. The problem is when you act from your limiting belief it locks you into a cycle of limitation and restriction because every time you experience your belief being ‘true’ you reinforce it in your own Morphic field and the Matrix.

The only way to change those subconscious beliefs is by finding the memories where they originated. Releasing the emotional energy that is holding them in place in the Matrix and creating new positive beliefs.

Collapse the ‘table top’ of memories based on a self-limiting belief

It may seem a daunting prospect to go back to all those painful memories to clear them one by one. But with EFT and Matrix Reimprinting we use the table top metaphor to show that once you remove the table legs of the most emotionally intense memories. The whole table top of similar memories based on a particular belief collapses.

Creating positive beliefs opens up new pathways in life

Once you connect with the power of the energetic universe within yourself. You are able to work with this energy in a proactive way, releasing pain and sadness and making space for new positive beliefs and the emotions they create. From this place you will find new pathways and directions begin to reveal themselves and as you open and expand your inner world you will find your outer world begins to do the same.

Unlocking the treasures of the heart

EFT Brighton and Hove

How often do you take the time to sit quietly and really listen to your heart? With the busy lives many of us lead the chances are not very often. Our industrial society treats human beings as parts in a giant machine and there has been no place for the heart and it’s wisdom.

Instead we are taught that to be happy we must be successful and to be successful we need to work harder and harder to gain more material wealth.  I’m not saying all material wealth is bad. I like my material comforts as much as the next person but I have personally found the idea that a life of comfort and convenience is the road to happiness has not been true for me.

I found our busy noisy world was the road to stress and a breakdown. I know I am not alone. The reason everyone is so stressed is because they are following the conditioning of working harder and harder to achieve happiness through material gain and finding it’s not working. If it was working they would feel happy not stressed.

The origin of stress is fear

What many people fail to realise because they are too busy being stressed on the treadmill of industrial life is that stress originates from the emotion of fear. In evolutionary terms the industrial revolution happened in the blink of an eye and for many thousands of years before life evolved more slowly and the human body, mind and spirit had time to adapt.

The body is a highly adaptive survival organism that was designed with the three responses to a threat of death. Fight, flight and freeze. This programming is very strong because it had to be as back then it really could mean the difference between life and death.

Is stress really the way to happiness?

In the concrete cities we now inhabit we no longer have the same type of threats to our survival but the body is still programmed to respond in this way to perceived threats. Instead of the fear of being eaten by a predator we have the fear of of being fired from our job. Instead of the fear of starvation we fear we don’t have the perfect body to be attractive and loved. The stress we experience is based on these fears of not working hard enough to be successful at our jobs, bodies, social lives and relationships. We put enormous pressure on ourselves because we were taught from childhood that this is how we’ll achieve happiness.  But can being in a fearful and stressed state really be the way to happiness?

Stress disconnects us from source

In a state of stress our heart rhythms become erratic. Our frontal cortex shuts down and we are unable to think clearly and solve problems. In this state we are also cut off from our connection to source through our heart and are unable to access it’s divine wisdom. As many people are in a state of fight or flight almost 24 7 they are not able to connect with their heart’s guidance and so their actions are controlled by fear and stress not love.

EFT helps us unlock the treasures of the heart

If the stress we feel is not acknowledged and released eventually the body will try and speak to you through physical symptoms and disease. EFT can help us understand the emotions behind the stress and where they originate from. Through tapping we can begin to open our hearts once again to connect with the truth of our emotions and release them. Once you recognise that all feelings, even the painful ones have a role to play in guiding you on your soul path it becomes easier to accept them as important wisdom from your heart.

When you unlock the pain held in your heart and release it you are free to rediscover all the other treasures contained within it that are difficult to access in an emotionally blocked state. Feelings of love, joy, compassion and gratitude for life. A true heart centred connection to other people and to life itself. In opening our hearts and releasing pain we find ourselves coming home to the eternal love of our soul.

The important life lessons our shadow self can teach us

The shadow self in Jungian psychology is a part of us in the unconscious mind that our conscious ego does not recognise or want to acknowledge exists.  Just as when the sun shines we all cast a shadow we all have a shadow self within us. Especially people who spend a huge amount of energy trying to convince themselves and others they have not. I know this because I was one of those people.

Happiness is not something to achieve

In our materialistic society obsessed with celebrity culture and the shiny surface appearance of a ‘perfect’ life there isn’t much room for shadow. As we strive for success on a never-ending conveyer belt of gaining more and more stuff we have no time to listen to the parts of us crying for our attention in the shadows.  I spent many years on the corporate treadmill trying to find fulfilment. Working hard to achieve happiness because I had been taught that ‘productivity’ and ‘deliverables’ were the way to do that.

But what I learnt was you can’t ‘achieve’ happiness, it is not another thing to gain through hard work. Happiness is a state of mind, a still place within your heart you can choose to connect with at any time. It can be found in the scent of a flower, listening to beautiful bird song, the smile of a friend and many other small but significant moments of life. You may be surprised to hear it was my shadow that eventually taught me this truth.  But this was after everything had happened and I realised I wouldn’t have learnt this without going through the experiences I did.

When the perfectionist takes control

I did not recognise the voice I would hear all the time was that of the perfectionist part in me. If you can just deliver this project on time, gain that promotion or get that bonus you will be happy and you will be successful.

This part likes to get things ‘right’ whilst being very concerned about what others think of her. She was in the drivers seat and not about to let anyone else try and give directions because her ego was to big for that and she could do it all herself! She didn’t have time for the shadow.

Of course my heart had been trying to talk to me for years through feelings but the perfectionist part wasn’t interested in feelings. She was on a mission and nothing was going to get in her way. She was going to achieve goals and attain success at any cost. (She had been very well conditioned you see).

So on and on I went pushing myself harder and harder ignoring what my heart was telling me and sinking deeper into depression. I would like to say one day I woke up and finally decided to listen to the kind guidance and wisdom of my heart but that’s not the way it happened.

The shadow as saviour

In the end my shadow stepped in and I had a breakdown. Although it didn’t feel like it at the time it was saving me from myself. I want to make the important point here that I’m not saying the corporation caused my breakdown. It was ignoring my heart that did it. I do have a lot to say about the way many corporations are currently operating, how they treat people and the need for them to evolve to support a life sustaining society but that’s for another time.

Some people enjoy the left brained corporate culture and the ‘safety’ of the structured life it provides but as a creative person and a deep thinker I had to finally accept I was not one of them.  In the end the true values in my heart where stronger than my mental conditioning and I could not continue putting my energy into something I didn’t believe in.  I finally met my shadow when I had fallen into it and there was nowhere to hide any more. In that shadow place I discovered parts of me that were holding onto a lot of unprocessed emotions from the various challenging life experiences I’d had. It was their feelings of unhappiness, anxiety and fear I had been running away from for so long. There was also that core creative part of me that was desperate to escape what she saw as a prison in that structured left brained environment.

Embrace your shadow. The source of self-knowledge, wisdom and healing

Embrace your shadow. The source of self-knowledge, wisdom and healing

Shadow as a source of wisdom and healing

As my heart opened to the truth of my feelings there was lots of pain and many tears but when those had been shed the grey fog of depression lifted and the world began to look brighter than it had for a long time. I had a new understanding and respect for my shadow that had protected me from all these difficult emotions for such a long time. I learnt that rather than turning away from it and denying its existence I needed to embrace my shadow with love and compassion and in doing so I opened a door to greater self-knowledge, wisdom and healing.

How Matrix Reimprinting can help you change your beliefs to change your life

It can be a challenge to describe what Matrix Reimprinting is and how it works. Talking about quantum physics and energy can leave some people cold or confused so one of the best ways I find is to share people’s experiences during their sessions (with permission of course).

Over the weekend I was fortunate enough to work with Robert at the mind, body, spirit fair in Hove. Robert explained his issue was that he was feeling anxiety because he worked in a stressful environment and would often find himself feeling overwhelmed with all he had to do. He also felt the need to take on his colleagues work as well to ‘make sure it got done in time’. As is common in a highly stressful corporate environment his anxiety was increased because he felt if he didn’t finish everything in time his performance would be judged.

Tapping on anxiety

We began with classic EFT tapping on Robert’s anxiety in his stomach. Even though anxiety is what we call a global issue by tapping on it we were able to unlock some more specific feelings around his situation at work. Whilst tapping on global issues can bring some relief for EFT to be really effective we need to tap on specific emotional, sensory or physical details usually encapsulated in a memory.

The colour of emotions

Sometimes in an EFT session we will use colour to help connect with the emotion that’s come up. Colour is energy and helps us connect directly to the subconscious. Often in a session when our client says the colour is changing it is a sign they are releasing emotion and this is what happened with Robert.  As the session progressed the anxiety in his stomach shifted and became a pain in his lower back. This is also common occurrence in an EFT session as we begin shifting energy it can move around the body.

The emotional cause of lower back pain

The pain in Robert’s lower back was a clue for me that at some point in his life he had not felt supported and when I mentioned this to him it made Robert think about feeling responsible. At this point he made a leap across time when a childhood memory surfaced. In this memory he was 9 years old, his mum and dad had just split up and he was feeling the weight of responsibility of looking after his mum.

Uncovering a core belief

Once we had identified where he had first felt this feeling of responsibility earlier in his life. I was able to help Robert step into the memory and tap on his younger self to enable him to let go of the emotions connected to feeling responsible and to uncover the core belief that he had to look after his mum which led to him feeling he had to look after everyone at work.

Matrix Reimprinting helps you create a picture that reflects new positive beliefs about yourself

Creating a new positive picture

Robert could now see how this belief formed when he was 9 years old, was still controlling his behaviour at work and probably in other situations ever since. He was then able to help the younger self change that belief to one that supported a more healthy approach to his work so he would no longer feel anxiety because he could choose not to take on his colleague’s responsibility to get their work done on time.

We then invited Robert’s younger self to create a new positive picture to replace the old memory and reinforce this new realisation. At the end of the session he felt a weight had been lifted and his anxiety had gone.

The real power of Matrix Reimprinting is in its ability to help you uncover the limiting beliefs that you have been unconsciously creating your life from often since childhood. Once you identify the limiting beliefs that have been controlling your behaviour you are free to create new beliefs that expand your possibilities and opportunities in life. By healing the past you really can transform your future.

5 ways to improve your emotional health

The importance of emotional health

The Institute of Heart Math Research Center has spent the last 20 years focusing on the heart- brain connection and discovering the benefits to our physical health of being in a positive emotional state. When we are in what’s known as the coherent heart state measured as 0.1 frequency using an EEG monitor. Our mind, body, spirit and emotions are working harmoniously together. In this optimum state we are better able to communicate, solve problems, be creative and even have better physical co-ordination. This is a good place for us to be living our lives from but trying to be in a state of heart coherence in our fast paced technological society can prove challenging to say the least. Whilst there is a big focus on physical exercise and appearance there is little recognition of the need to look after our emotional health and the detrimental effect it can have on our well being if we don’t. This coupled with the British cultural conditioning of keeping ‘a stiff upper lip’ means as a nation we are very good at repressing our emotions rather than expressing and releasing them.

There is growing evidence from the new science of Epigenetics that this strategy for coping with emotions is the root cause of many physical symptoms and disease we experience. Bruce Lipton, a stem-cell biologist discovered it’s the emotional environment we create in our mind that impacts the health of our cells not our genes. This discovery means we can no longer ignore our feelings and emotions. Finding ways to ensure we spend time in the coherent heart state is not just something we should ‘fit in’ our busy lives but a state we should aim to be in constantly. We need to recognise that slowing down and feeling gratitude and appreciation for life will bring many benefits to mind, body and spirit that our modern society does not make time for.

Here I outline 5 healthy habits you can develop to improve your emotional health

Create some daily quiet time

Find a time every day that you can turn everything off and spend some time in a quiet place. Switch off the TV, Computer, Phone and whatever other gadgets you feel like you can’t live without and spend at least 15 minutes just listening to what comes up for you. There maybe emotions and feelings you find uncomfortable and you may have the urge to grab your phone or computer to distract yourself. The reality is those emotions and feelings are trying to get your attention for a good reason. This is an opportunity to tune into your heart and listen to what it’s telling you and the first step towards creating a deeper connection with yourself and your inner world.

Griffith Park Meditation

Find some daily quiet time to listen within

Develop an awareness of when you are stressed

Modern society and our use of technology has brought us many advantages but an unwelcome consequence has been our levels of stress have increased. The commute on the tube, the bullying boss, the relationship that’s not going quite according to plan and the cigarettes and wine you tell yourself are relaxing you at the end of the day are all contributing factors to your stress. For some people stress becomes a way of life but this is when it get’s dangerous. Your body was never designed to be in a constant state of stress and if you don’t take time to become aware of when you are stressed sooner or later you will experience burn out, illness and in some cases serious disease.

Take the time to notice when you begin to feel stressed, how you feel in your body, the thoughts that are running through your head and how this effects the way you interact with others. Once you’ve noticed when you are feeling stressed you can learn healthier ways to reduce it than drinking another cup of coffee or smoking a cigarette. Believe me these are adding to your stress, not reducing it!

Learn EFT

Emotional Freedom Technique is fast becoming the safe and easy way to release stressful feelings in the body and mind. Whilst focusing on the stressful feelings in your body that may manifest as a tight chest, knot in your stomach or other physical sensation caused by stress. You tap on a sequence of meridian points to rebalance your energy and bring you back into the parasympathetic calm state when you have been triggered into a stressed or fight/flight state . EFT is also known as ‘emotional acupuncture’ and the basic tapping points can be found here http://www.freehearteft.co.uk/howtotap.html. Learning to tap rather than reach for a cigarette or a glass of wine that just have the effect of suppressing your feelings is a much healthier way for you to deal with stress and will help you return to a coherent heart state associated with optimum health.

Be kind to yourself

Our money focused society conditions us to believe that being successful means having more money, more stuff, more sex and more power. This means we are all working really hard to achieve these goals that if we really stopped and thought about it. We might realise are not bringing us the happiness we were promised but instead are making us feel like we never have enough and feeling stressed because we are chasing an impossible dream which wasn’t ours in the first place. Participating in this competitive culture can mean we are very hard on ourselves as each of our achievements is barely acknowledged in our race to achieve the next goal, pay rise or rung up the ladder. Being kind to yourself means working out what’s right for you rather than blindly following someone else’s ideas about what makes a successful life and what brings happiness. The reality is happiness is very personal and only you know what truly makes you happy. The greatest kindness you can give yourself is taking the time to work out what happiness means to you. There is no better way to improve your emotional health than taking whatever action you need to make sure your life has the right mix of ingredients that make you happy.

Find a community of like-minds

Once you’ve identified what makes you happy and experienced the benefits of improving your emotional health. You can further support yourself by finding a community of like-minded people who have similar ways of bringing happiness into their lives. It may be by listening to your heart you have identified some situations or habits in your current life that are not supporting your emotional health and that you need to let go of that which is no longer serving you. Being in a community of like-minds can help you ensure you find the support you need whilst you develop new habits that improve your emotional and physical health as you embark on this new path.

The more you experience the benefits to body, mind and spirit of improving your emotional health the easier it is to continue on this new path and begin to share the benefits with others. Never underestimate the impact you can have on others as they see the positive effect the changes you have made bring to you and the potential for themselves.

Using EFT to learn the language of emotions

If someone asked you what’s the main way people communicate with each other the chances are you’d say talking. There is a lot of emphasis on learning the spoken word and of course it’s a very important aspect of human communication. However it may surprise you to know talking is only responsible for 7% of our communication, especially when you consider how much talking we all do.  In fact 55% of communication is visual (body language and eye contact) and 38% is vocal (tone of voice, pitch, speed and volume)

People talking

Talking is only responsible for 7% of communication

Communicating with our emotions

There is another language much less recognised but equally important and that is the language of emotions. As children we are much more connected to our emotional state unable to hide what we are feeling in the moment. In our society however, emotions are often seen as a weakness and as our conditioning takes over we are taught that being ‘too emotional’ is not a desirable way of behaving and so we learn to censor ourselves to fit in and be ‘normal’.

This conditioning means we can become very disconnected from our true feelings and when we face a challenge in our lives that is emotionally upsetting we are taught to suppress those feelings rather than express and release them. Although a certain amount of emotional censorship is necessary for society to function effectively. Unfortunately for many people suppressing their emotions over a period of time can lead to mental or physical illness and disease.

Emotions are recorded at a cellular level

Ignoring emotions does not mean they go away. Instead they go into the body ‘recorded’ at a cellular level and stay there until such time as they are released. But as we are not taught how to effectively do this the average person is carrying around layers of emotions from all of their traumatic experiences from childhood or even previous life times.

Our emotional environment affects our genes

The importance of the mind-body connection is being increasingly accepted and new sciences such as Epigenetics are able to show that both the emotional ‘environment’ of our inner world and our physical environment can have either a positive or negative impact on the health of our genes. For this reason it’s important to be aware of what emotional environment you are creating on a daily basis.

Is it one filled with positive thoughts that bring a feeling of joy and love into your heart or is it one filled with thoughts that have a negative impact on your health and wellbeing? Chances are it’s the latter and everyday you are creating an internal environment filled with thoughts and emotions that are keeping you from an optimum state of health and wellbeing whilst at the same time blocking your authentic self, in fact you may not even know who this self is.  This is where energy psychology therapies such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Matrix Reimprinting, a recent and very powerful evolution of EFT can be very helpful.

Onion Heart

Peeling away the layers of emotions

Peeling the onion

EFT and Matrix Reimprinting are powerful therapies that enable you to learn the language of your emotions.  As you tap on an issue and connect with what physical sensation it creates in your body you go on a unique journey that involves peeling away the layers of emotions that are causing this block in your meridian energy system, a network of pathways and energy points that run through your body.

We call this the onion effect and what EFT is really good at is helping you identify your emotions as part of the process of peeling away those layers that are blocking you from connecting with your original being of peace and love. Once the layers have been removed Matrix Reimprinting can be used to help you re-connect with your authentic self by healing the younger parts of you that have been holding these emotions for many years.

Shine the light of your authentic self

Taking the time to learn the language of emotions using EFT can literally change your life. Instead of remaining stuck in a place, job, relationship that is no longer working for you or perhaps never was. You can clear the layers of emotion and self-limiting beliefs caused by them that are keeping you stuck.

The wonderful thing is once they have been cleared you are free to shine the bright light of your authentic self into the world and begin to consciously create your life in a way that works for you.

It is only when you begin living from this state of being that you will see your outer world transform as it begins to reflect your light back to you.

Tapping into the power of dreams with EFT

EFT for dreams

Tapping into the power of dreams with EFT

Dreams are a doorway into the unconscious mind we access when we are asleep. Although we may not always remember them we are dreaming every night with the majority of people having between 3 to 5 dreams a night. Dreams act as a kind of pressure gauge allowing us to process feelings and emotions we may not be consciously aware of in our waking life. As such they can be used for healing as our unconscious mind is helping us process unresolved emotions as it works towards making us whole again.

Feelings are the fabric of dreams

Dreams are an undervalued resource but the language of dreams is very powerful and worth investing time in learning. Taken literally dreams can seem confusing and strange and there are many dream interpretation books available that explain the psychological meaning of elements in your dream. Whilst they are useful they only give definitions for individual dream elements. The most important aspect though is the feelings experienced by the dreamer during the dream as they are the fabric that connect all the different elements and hold the key to interpreting the dream correctly. But there is another way we can effectively work with dreams- we can tap on them.

Dream Tapping

When we have a particularly vivid dream or a recurring dream we can use tapping to help us understand what the dream is really about and what our unconscious mind is trying to communicate to us. Jungian dream analysis is based on the idea that all elements in the dream are parts of our psyche.  By re-entering a dream and tapping on dream symbols your conscious mind can enter into a dialogue with the unconscious parts of you who may have been previously ignored or denied. Using dream tapping you create a connection between these two brain wave states whilst you are awake. By doing this you are learning to communicate with the vast database of knowledge that is the unified energy field. This is the knowledge of your higher self or soul self.

Dream Tapping

Using EFT to tap into the knowledge of your higher self

Dreams connect us to source

When we dream we return to source energy and the brain is using symbols from the collective unconscious to represent your thoughts and feelings. This is why you can find yourself dreaming about a place, a person or an experience you have not had in your current lifetime. This is a way everyone can understand and experience the interconnectedness of everything. Your dreams will follow where your daily consciousness is focusing so the state of your dreams is a good way to measure whether your subconcious thoughts are predominantly positive or negative. This is important because it’s our subconscious thoughts that are impacting energetically on our lives and can either be supporting or blocking our progress on our desired life path.

Working with emotional metaphors

We don’t have to wait until we are asleep to access these dream symbols we can also use tapping to connect us to the higher dimensional energies that dreams also originate from. When we work metaphorically with emotional energy we are using the language of dreams to transform it. We can also use tapping to tune into positive dreams where we feel joy, happiness, love and peace to begin working with this soul energy in a deeper way. Bringing it from the dream world into our waking reality. This is the energy used in Matrix Reimprinting sessions to create the new picture we send out from our heart.

Dreams are a doorway to our inner power

In this time of rapid transition and change it has never been more important to transform and release fear-based emotions from our dreams and be sending positive emotions and images out from our hearts into the world. Many of us have been sleepwalking through life disconnected from our inner power to transform our lives and our world. Dreams are a doorway to that inner power and connection to source energy. It is time for us to start using this power wisely.

Tuning into a higher consciousness

Science has proved that we are surrounded by different types of electromagnetic waves. There are radio waves, infrared, microwaves, x-rays, gamma rays and ultraviolet that we can’t see and visible light that we can see as colours of the rainbow. Even though we cannot see microwaves we know that something is creating the heat that cooks our food and when we press the remote control the channel changes on the television although infrared is not visible to the human eye. Just because we cannot see it doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

Thoughts and emotions are energy

In this energetic universe we live in there are many different types of energy we can tune into. Although we cannot see them we experience them through our other senses. Thoughts and emotions are forms of energy we are sending out constantly that impact on ourselves and other people. We also experience them physically as feelings in our body.

Tuning into the energy of love

Imagine you are like a radio and that during this time of shifting consciousness you have a choice about which type of energy you tune into. You can continue tuning into the mainstream media’s energy of lack and fear that can keep you stuck in a place that is no longer relevant to you or you can choose to tune into a higher vibrational energy of healing and love as you move towards your awakened state.

When we use EFT to tap into the matrix of energy, not only are we tapping into emotional, mental and sensory information we are also tapping into the higher dimensional energy of love. It is this energy of love we use to create our new positive picture that we send out into the universe from our hearts during the session.

The human energy field

If you think this is fluffy spiritual nonsense think again. Scientists are now able to measure our aura or ‘human energy field’ proving that we emit our own waves of energy. The Institute of Heartmath Research Center has been researching the electromagnetic field of the heart and how it communicates with the brain for the last two decades. What they have discovered is the heart has an electromagnetic energy field 60 times greater than that of the brain and affects every cell in the body. They have also shown how the electromagnetic fields of our hearts communicate with each other and how connecting with positive heart felt emotions has a beneficial effect on our physical health and wellbeing and those we are connected to.

Emerging higher consciousness

When we send our new positive picture from our heart out into the matrix we are making our own important contribution to the emerging higher consciousness of love. By releasing our emotional pain and opening our hearts we are creating an opportunity not only to heal ourselves but also to heal each other and the earth on which all life depends.
