How to listen to your heart

 

The ancient guidance to ‘listen to your heart’ has been around for thousands of years and still we find it challenging to do. This is partly because instead of being taught the value of your heart’s guidance early in life you are taught to follow the rules and to do what other people tell you to do. After a life time of doing this it can be incredibly hard to get in touch with your feelings and trust them but your feelings are your heart’s way of speaking to you.

Develop an awareness of what makes your heart expand with happiness

A first step to re-learning this natural ability is to develop an awareness of how certain people and situations in your life make you feel. Which ones make your heart expand with happiness and which make it contract and feel heavy? Most of you would acknowledge that feelings of happiness and heart expansion feel much better than a heavy heart but you will still find people and situations in your lives that make your heart contract and drain your energy.

This may be because you have a sense of obligation towards a person or situation or you fear their loss as you don’t know what will take their place in your life. Either way holding on to them can mean you are keeping yourself stuck in a place that no longer serves you and stops you moving onto the next stage of your life’s journey.

 

The guidance of others can limit you 

When you face a situation where you are not sure what action to take it is natural to ask for the guidance of friends. Whilst this can be useful it’s important to be aware this advice will be given from their own life experience, beliefs and personality. It can be interesting to see your cautious friend will advise caution. The friend who uses attack as a form of defence will make a suggestion based on this coping strategy and the friend who is challenged to speak the truth of their feelings will tell you not to speak your truth. You need to realise these are all coping strategies they developed to avoid pain and living from the heart means embracing pain as part of life rather than contracting in fear around it. Action taken from your heart’s true nature of love and trust will always bring more love into your life eventually.

 

Fear based action cuts us off from our hearts wisdom

Ultimately any action taken from fear whether yours or another persons cuts you off from your heart’s wise guidance that is your direct connection to universal intelligence, whilst any action taken from love opens you up more fully to this connection.  Listening to your heart to become aware of what makes it expand with happiness and joy so you can move towards the people and places that give you that feeling is an act of self- love.

Your heart is the only guaranteed constant in your life. It will be with you through the ups and downs, the good times and the not so good. It only wants the best for you and will always have an answer in any situation, though you might find it challenging to act on it.

Know that your heart is always trying to heal the inevitable hurt life brings you. It is always moving you towards forgiveness because beyond forgiveness lies complete freedom from the past and the opportunity to live from your true nature of love rather than fear.

The power of beliefs

When you hear the word belief what does it make you think of? Chances are it is religious beliefs. For millennia religious wars have raged because people are intolerant of others belief systems and want theirs to be the one true belief. Religion is still used today by many people as a way to dominate and control others.

We are all aware that people can be very protective of their beliefs as they form the foundation of their lives and any challenge to them can be seen as threatening.  But what many people do not realise is the power beliefs have to shape our lives in ways we are not consciously aware of.

The truth is you are all living in your own worlds created by your beliefs. These beliefs are based on your past experience, your conditioning, other people’s perceptions you have absorbed as your own and the collective unconscious. The part of our unconscious mind that’s derived from ancestral memory and experience that you regularly access in your dreams.

In the quantum understanding of the universe everything is part of the divine Matrix, a field of energy transformation and manifestation that permeates and connects all life forms. Your beliefs are thought forms you send out into the matrix that you attract back as life experiences. In other words if you have a belief you are not good enough on a subconscious level you are constantly looking for validation of the truth of your belief so you can be ‘right’.

From a survival perspective this is a way of keeping you safe because you are still influenced by your ancestors fear of change as for them change was a real threat to their survival. The problem is when you act from your limiting belief it locks you into a cycle of limitation and restriction because every time you experience your belief being ‘true’ you reinforce it in your own Morphic field and the Matrix.

The only way to change those subconscious beliefs is by finding the memories where they originated. Releasing the emotional energy that is holding them in place in the Matrix and creating new positive beliefs.

Unlocking the treasures of the heart

EFT Brighton and Hove

 

How often do you take the time to sit quietly and really listen to your heart? With the busy lives many of us lead the chances are not very often. Our industrial society treats human beings as parts in a giant machine and there has been no place for the heart and it’s wisdom.

Instead we are taught that to be happy we must be successful and to be successful we need to work harder and harder to gain more material wealth.  I’m not saying all material wealth is bad. I like my material comforts as much as the next person but I have personally found the idea that a life of comfort and convenience is the road to happiness has not been true for me.

I found our busy noisy world was the road to stress and a breakdown. I know I am not alone. The reason everyone is so stressed is because they are following the conditioning of working harder and harder to achieve happiness through material gain and finding it’s not working. If it was working they would feel happy not stressed.

 

The origin of stress is fear

What many people fail to realise because they are too busy being stressed on the treadmill of industrial life is that stress originates from the emotion of fear. In evolutionary terms the industrial revolution happened in the blink of an eye and for many thousands of years before life evolved more slowly and the human body, mind and spirit had time to adapt.

The body is a highly adaptive survival organism that was designed with the three responses to a threat of death. Fight, flight and freeze. This programming is very strong because it had to be as back then it really could mean the difference between life and death.

 

Is stress really the way to happiness? 

In the concrete cities we now inhabit we no longer have the same type of threats to our survival but the body is still programmed to respond in this way to perceived threats. Instead of the fear of being eaten by a predator we have the fear of of being fired from our job. Instead of the fear of starvation we fear we don’t have the perfect body to be attractive and loved. The stress we experience is based on these fears of not working hard enough to be successful at our jobs, bodies, social lives and relationships. We put enormous pressure on ourselves because we were taught from childhood that this is how we’ll achieve happiness.  But can being in a fearful and stressed state really be the way to happiness?

 

Stress disconnects us from source

In a state of stress our heart rhythms become erratic. Our frontal cortex shuts down and we are unable to think clearly and solve problems. In this state we are also cut off from our connection to source through our heart and are unable to access it’s divine wisdom. As many people are in a state of fight or flight almost 24 7 they are not able to connect with their heart’s guidance and so their actions are controlled by fear and stress not love.

 

EFT helps us unlock the treasures of the heart 

If the stress we feel is not acknowledged and released eventually the body will try and speak to you through physical symptoms and disease. EFT can help us understand the emotions behind the stress and where they originate from. Through tapping we can begin to open our hearts once again to connect with the truth of our emotions and release them. Once you recognise that all feelings, even the painful ones have a role to play in guiding you on your soul path it becomes easier to accept them as important wisdom from your heart.

When you unlock the pain held in your heart and release it you are free to rediscover all the other treasures contained within it that are difficult to access in an emotionally blocked state. Feelings of love, joy, compassion and gratitude for life. A true heart centred connection to other people and to life itself. In opening our hearts and releasing pain we find ourselves coming home to the eternal love of our soul.

How Matrix Reimprinting can help you change your beliefs to change your life

It can be a challenge to describe what Matrix Reimprinting is and how it works. Talking about quantum physics and energy can leave some people cold or confused so one of the best ways I find is to share people’s experiences during their sessions (with permission of course).

Over the weekend I was fortunate enough to work with Robert at the mind, body, spirit fair in Hove. Robert explained his issue was that he was feeling anxiety because he worked in a stressful environment and would often find himself feeling overwhelmed with all he had to do. He also felt the need to take on his colleagues work as well to ‘make sure it got done in time’. As is common in a highly stressful corporate environment his anxiety was increased because he felt if he didn’t finish everything in time his performance would be judged.

 

Tapping on anxiety

We began with classic EFT tapping on Robert’s anxiety in his stomach. Even though anxiety is what we call a global issue by tapping on it we were able to unlock some more specific feelings around his situation at work. Whilst tapping on global issues can bring some relief for EFT to be really effective we need to tap on specific emotional, sensory or physical details usually encapsulated in a memory.

 

The colour of emotions

Sometimes in an EFT session we will use colour to help connect with the emotion that’s come up. Colour is energy and helps us connect directly to the subconscious. Often in a session when our client says the colour is changing it is a sign they are releasing emotion and this is what happened with Robert.  As the session progressed the anxiety in his stomach shifted and became a pain in his lower back. This is also common occurrence in an EFT session as we begin shifting energy it can move around the body.

 

The emotional cause of lower back pain

The pain in Robert’s lower back was a clue for me that at some point in his life he had not felt supported and when I mentioned this to him it made Robert think about feeling responsible. At this point he made a leap across time when a childhood memory surfaced. In this memory he was 9 years old, his mum and dad had just split up and he was feeling the weight of responsibility of looking after his mum.

 

Uncovering a core belief

Once we had identified where he had first felt this feeling of responsibility earlier in his life. I was able to help Robert step into the memory and tap on his younger self to enable him to let go of the emotions connected to feeling responsible and to uncover the core belief that he had to look after his mum which led to him feeling he had to look after everyone at work.

Creating a new positive picture

Robert could now see how this belief formed when he was 9 years old, was still controlling his behaviour at work and probably in other situations ever since. He was then able to help the younger self change that belief to one that supported a more healthy approach to his work so he would no longer feel anxiety because he could choose not to take on his colleague’s responsibility to get their work done on time.

We then invited Robert’s younger self to create a new positive picture to replace the old memory and reinforce this new realisation. At the end of the session he felt a weight had been lifted and his anxiety had gone.

The real power of Matrix Reimprinting is in its ability to help you uncover the limiting beliefs that you have been unconsciously creating your life from often since childhood. Once you identify the limiting beliefs that have been controlling your behaviour you are free to create new beliefs that expand your possibilities and opportunities in life. Tuning into a higher consciousness

 

Science has proved that we are surrounded by different types of electromagnetic waves. There are radio waves, infrared, microwaves, x-rays, gamma rays and ultraviolet that we can’t see and visible light that we can see as colours of the rainbow. Even though we cannot see microwaves we know that something is creating the heat that cooks our food and when we press the remote control the channel changes on the television although infrared is not visible to the human eye. Just because we cannot see it doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

 

Thoughts and emotions are energy

In this energetic universe we live in there are many different types of energy we can tune into. Although we cannot see them we experience them through our other senses. Thoughts and emotions are forms of energy we are sending out constantly that impact on ourselves and other people. We also experience them physically as feelings in our body.

 

Tuning into the energy of love 

Imagine you are like a radio and that during this time of shifting consciousness you have a choice about which type of energy you tune into. You can continue tuning into the mainstream media’s energy of lack and fear that can keep you stuck in a place that is no longer relevant to you or you can choose to tune into a higher vibrational energy of healing and love as you move towards your awakened state.

When we use EFT to tap into the matrix of energy, not only are we tapping into emotional, mental and sensory information we are also tapping into the higher dimensional energy of love. It is this energy of love we use to create our new positive picture that we send out into the universe from our hearts during the session.

The human energy field

If you think this is fluffy spiritual nonsense think again. Scientists are now able to measure our aura or ‘human energy field’ proving that we emit our own waves of energy. The Institute of Heartmath Research Center has been researching the electromagnetic field of the heart and how it communicates with the brain for the last two decades. What they have discovered is the heart has an electromagnetic energy field 60 times greater than that of the brain and affects every cell in the body. They have also shown how the electromagnetic fields of our hearts communicate with each other and how connecting with positive heart felt emotions has a beneficial effect on our physical health and wellbeing and those we are connected to.

 

Emerging higher consciousness

When we send our new positive picture from our heart out into the matrix we are making our own important contribution to the emerging higher consciousness of love. By releasing our emotional pain and opening our hearts we are creating an opportunity not only to heal ourselves but also to heal each other and the earth on which all life depends.

We must find our own way out of the chrysalis of change

Like all life forms the caterpillar is born with an inbuilt evolutionary urge. At some point it will know it’s time to go somewhere safe and quiet to make it’s chrysalis whilst it transforms into a completely new life form.

It is not by accident it begins life crawling around. It cannot travel very far or very fast and it relies on its outer skin for defence in the form of camouflage or poisonous fur to protect it whilst it fulfils its basic needs. This is the first stage of its life, learning the basics.

We begin life in a similar way except our camouflage is the social identity we are conditioned to create so we can fit in with everyone else and survive. It has been this way for a very long time. Each generation passing down behaviour based on the survival mind and though in the past this would have often have meant to difference between life and death in recent times it has become a self-destructive behaviour on a global scale.

The fear-mind’s solution to the problem of survival has become a problem itself and has led us to a point where our environmentally destructive habits threaten the survival of all life on the planet. It is time for our evolutionary impulse to evolve from the survival mind to the conscious mind.

Rather than looking at insects and seeing something smaller and inferior to us. Could it be that we have much to learn from other life forms evolutionary journeys? After all many of them have been around much longer than humans. Perhaps the metamorphosis of the caterpillar into a butterfly represents this necessary evolution from humans mindlessly focusing on survival to heart-centred spiritual consciousness?

 

Entering the chrysalis

Like the caterpillar we have to enter our chrysalis period alone, we must also struggle to leave our chrysalis alone too. There are some things we can only do for ourselves and working out who we really are and what we’re here to do as spiritual beings is one of them. Time in your chrysalis is imperative for you to reflect on your life so far and understand the lessons learnt from it. It’s also a time to work out what you will do with the second half of your life when you transform from the caterpillar into the butterfly of spiritual consciousness.

How will you use these new abilities and skills that have evolved from your earlier life? How you will live in a heart-centred and conscious way? What will your life look like when you do?

 

Spiritual Metamorphosis

The caterpillar teaches us there are no short cuts to being a butterfly. It’s true the butterfly’s wings enable it to have a completely different perspective of the world and travel further and faster than the caterpillar ever could but it can only do this because it lived as a caterpillar first.

In the same way we need the lessons of our caterpillar stage of life to be the foundation for our own spiritual metamorphosis. This can only happen when we take the time in our chrysalis to understand and accept those life lessons. The spiritual wisdom of the butterfly can only grow from the hard work of the caterpillar.

A free heart is a happy heart

The healing path is the way back to your heart.

In life you will find many pathways to choose from. You may try different routes and travel far but only the healing path helps you find your way back to your heart…

This healing journey can be challenging as we navigate the emotionally painful experiences we will inevitably face in our lives. Developing fear consciousness with Matrix Reimprinting

Fear protects us

It’s important to remember that fear is a natural and necessary part of our survival response that protects us from dangerous situations in life. However it can become a problem when it stops us doing the things we want to do life and keeps us stuck in our comfort zone. Often our fears lies in our past experiences where we where hurt unexpectedly but there are other types of fear we need to be aware of.

Origin of fear

Knowing the origin of our fears is the first step towards working with them consciously. Are we feeling fear based on our own past experience in a particular lifetime or is our fear part of our conditioning from the collective ‘fear-mind’? We live in a society where this fear-mind is all pervading with the behaviour of mainstream media, politicians and corporations reinforcing it on a daily basis.

There is a huge fear of lack in our society and often we find others projecting their own fears onto us. Fear closes us down and limits our options as our fearful thoughts create deeply ingrained neural pathways that are reinforced through repetition. This is part of the challenge in these times of shifting consciousness, awakening from fear-based living so we can begin living from the heart. It is our heart that is our creative centre and it needs to be open for us to tap into our connection with the creative intelligence of the cosmos.

New pathways of possibility

The leaf has many pathways of veins because it needs to maximise the amount of water and nutrients it gets from the environment to help it grow and survive. In a similar way we need to ensure our thinking doesn’t get stuck traveling down the same limited routes but stays open to new pathways of thought that provide the nourishment of new ideas and possibilities for life.

New pathways of possibility and positivity

Einstein said we cannot solve our problem with the same mind set that created it so it follows we need new ways of thinking to replace our old negative thought patterns. The old view was that ‘a leopard can’t change it’s spots or ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ both great examples of limiting thoughts that make you believe the brain is a compartmentalized static machine and once ‘thought pathways’ are deeply ingrained change is not possible. However the science of neural plasticity has found the brain is actually a highly adaptable and dynamic organ capable of generating new neurons and new neural pathways. This means limiting patterns of thought and behaviour; that often have their origins in childhood; can be replaced by more positive ones and this is exactly what happens during a matrix session.

We know the subconscious mind seeks to protect us by triggering our amygdala when it reads a situation as a threat to our survival but over time we can find this becomes a problem when we are held back by fears from our past, remaining stuck in patterns of thought that reinforce the neural pathways which both create and perpetuate those fears.

21 days to create new neural pathways

These patterns of thought contribute to our morphic fields. These are fields that organize our characteristic activity and behaviour and the more often we repeat these behaviours the stronger our fields become. This is why it’s important to reimprint your new positive picture for 21 days because that’s the time it takes for new neural pathways to form and to ensure the old pathways to the negative memory you worked on break down. The more you bring that new memory to mind and send it out into the matrix the stronger your new positive field will become.

Field of attraction

Another reason to reimprint the image for 21 days is that strong emotions help imprint new patterns of thought and strengthen neural networks. We can use the same ability the survival brain has to imprint an emotionally traumatic experience in the subconscious to help us avoid the situation again to reinforce the positive emotions attached to our new picture. Experiencing the image with all five senses touch, sound, smell, sight and taste helps make it as real as possible which also has a strengthening effect. Once we replace the negative images in our field with more positive ones we begin to attract more life-enhancing experiences towards us that reflect these new positive images and in turn strengthen our positive field of attraction.  If you build it they will come.
