We are living in times of rapid and profound change with a growing recognition that we need to move away from solely focusing on industrial growth and materialism towards building a life-sustaining society that benefits the health of the individual, the community and the ecosystems on which all life is dependant. In the natural world change is constant it’s only in the human world we try and control our lives to avoid change as we fear we won’t survive it.
But change is necessary for us to grow and change involves risk. When a seed is germinated and it becomes a seedling there is a risk that it might get eaten or not have enough food or water to survive. However the risk is necessary for it to fulfil its destiny of growing into a plant that will then propagate the species contributing to its evolutionary journey.
Some of you are choosing to proactively change your lives because of dissatisfaction with your old life and a desire to be part of this positive shift but for others perhaps change has been forced upon you. Regardless of how change is initiated it is possible for you to see it as an opportunity to reassess your life and the path you are currently on rather than becoming overwhelmed by fear of the unknown.
Challenges of change
When you let go of the day-to-day activities that kept you busy in our old life you find a space is created that makes it easier to listen to your inner voice. It would be great if all you had to do was listen but this is just the first stage to bringing major change to your life. The biggest challenge to taking action based on the guidance of your heart is confronting the fear-mind. You will recognise the fear-mind when you start hearing all the reasons why you can’t do what you’re heart is telling you because:
It’s too difficult
It will never work
So and so tried it and look what happened to them
What if I can’t earn enough money doing the thing I love?
I’m not good enough
I’m too old to start again
What if it doesn’t work out?
What if I don’t meet anyone else?
The list can be endless and designed to do one thing and one thing only. Protect you from taking risks and remind you of all the times it didn’t work out in the past to keep you ‘safe’ in your comfort zone. However for many of you your comfort zone is often a place you reached because of limiting beliefs about yourself and what you could achieve in life rather than a place you consciously visualised and worked towards manifesting. Do you ever wonder who you would be and where you would be without the fear-mind holding you back?
Tapping into positivity and possibility
When you find the fear-mind has taken over but you also know that change will be a good thing for you. Tapping is a great way to acknowledge your fearful thoughts and get to the root of them. Acknowledging your fears instead of denying or suppressing them is the first step to overcoming them.
When you tap on these thoughts you can access the first time you felt this feeling which will usually be an early traumatic memory where you created a self-limiting belief about yourself or you will recognise the voice of an adult authority figure speaking their conditioned fears that you absorbed as your own. Other memories where these beliefs where reinforced may also come into your awareness. People are always surprised that the thoughts and beliefs of a 4 year old in an emotionally difficult moment can still be governing them unconsciously many years later.
Once you have tapped to clear the negative energy held within these memories you are able to have new insights about the past whilst simultaneously creating new positive beliefs about yourself in your current situation. This in turn frees your energy so you can begin creating new ideas and possibilities for how you can step out of your comfort zone towards whatever your heart is calling you to with positivity and confidence.
